Self-Portrait, 2017

Self-Portrait, 2017 places a solitary form within an open desert landscape. Through softened contrast and manipulated color, WJP uses the scene to examine identity, isolation, and the feeling of existing outside society. The figure is present but difficult to place, becoming both portrait and abstraction.
