Smile Series, 2017

Smile Series uses a familiar symbol as a gesture of encouragement within an increasingly negative online culture. Many of the primary works were accompanied by twelve related pieces, which WJP distributed directly to members of his community alongside short videos reflecting on what was unfolding online at the time. The series extends beyond the original artwork, treating circulation, conversation, and participation as part of the work itself.
